- When did Paine Furniture close?1 Answer1stDibs ExpertMarch 25, 2024Paine Furniture closed in 2000. Leonard Baker Shearer originally founded the company as a simple cabinet-making workshop in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1835, and then took on John S. Paine as his apprentice in 1845.
