This modern wool rug is a handwoven Kilim constructed in Afghanistan in the early 2000s. The design has been woven with a simple, contrasting colour palette featuring black and cream. The design is a repeating pattern with diamond motifs woven symmetrically with a border at each end.
The master weavers of Afghanistan use only the finest materials in constructing these flatweave area rugs, including hand-spun wool and cotton. The colours come from organic vegetable dyeing techniques used for generations. The materials and methods used in the construction make this piece durable and will last decades if cared for correctly.
