David Scheinmann Contemporary Art

David Scheinmann is an emerging British photographic artist. Scheinmann has evolved from an award-winning, creative and cutting edge commercial photographer of the 1980s and 1990s into an artist whose work explores issues of cultural identity and popular iconography. A solo exhibition of Scheinmann’s work, curated by Centro Andaluz de la Fotografía, toured in Spain and his work was showcased at Royal Dublin Society Collective Contemporary Art in 2010 and has hung in the National Portrait Gallery in London. His work looks at comic book heroes, pop art, adult entertainers and advertising. Inspired by the recent visual explosion in Contemporary Chinese and Asian art, Scheinmann’s series on Asian Movie Icons is richly rendered in mixed media pigment and silkscreen hybrid prints and was first shown at Art Basel's Hong Kong Art Fair in 2012.

Located in London, GB
"Love Saves The Day" Harland Miller, 2014 15 color silkscreen print on 410gsm Somerset paper 146 cm x 105 cm page size Edition 100 signed and numbered in pencil. One of the top three most desirable Harland Miller prints, this is a stunning large format print, mounted and framed in a white box frame. Frame size 162 cm x 121 cm Provenance: The Ingleby Gallery, Edinburgh, Scotland. purchased on 7th May 2016 In late 2012, Miller had his first solo show at Ingleby Gallery entitled "Overcoming Optimism" Harland Miller Harland Miller is both a writer and artist (his debut novel Slow Down Arthur Stick to Thirty was published in 2000) and his paintings of books simultaneously provide a subject for the painter and an outlet for the writer. They combine the emotive possibilities of abstract expressionism with the quick punch of words to deliver their message, and for all the macho grist of their making, and often overwhelming scale, they somehow express a frailty that hints at the human condition. As Miller has said: “Painting is the worst medium to express narrative, but perhaps the best to hit a nerve”. Harland Miller was born in Yorkshire in 1964. He has lived in New York and Berlin and currently lives and works in London. He formed The Talking Heads with fellow RISD student, Chris Frantz, and Frantz's girlfriend, Tina Weymouth, in 1975 while living in New York City. In 1990 he founded the world music record label Luaka Bop, which released music from artists including Os Mutantes, Tom Ze, and Zap Mama. Byrne's solo career has been broad and multi-disciplinary. Since the 1990s, Byrne has exhibited his visual artwork at numerous galleries including Pace/MacGill Gallery in New York City. In 2006 he released Arboretum, a collection of his philosophical drawings, published by McSweeney's. Byrne's drawings are what he calls "mental maps of imaginary territory." Says Byrne, "if you can draw a relationship, it can exist... the world keeps opening up, unfolding, and just when we expect it to be closed—to be a sealed sensible box—it shows us something completely surprising." Bonnie Edelman "Sand Bar" Photograph, Scapes Series, 2011
By Bonnie Edelman
Located in New York, NY
Contemporary artist Bonnie Edelman's "Sand Bar" was photographed in 2011 and is part of the Sea Scapes Series. As her most recognized collection "Scapes" consists of landscapes, seascapes and skyscapes whose specific forms have been blurred in order to direct viewers’ focus toward colors and compositions. Sublime and abstract, the photographs capture grain fields, sea horizons, and sunsets from around the world. This photograph is being offered as a C-print face-mounted onto 1/8” non glare plexi with a custom maple floating frame (1/2" face x 2" deep with 3/8" gap). It will ship directly from the artist's printmaking studio with a signed certificate of authenticity. About the artist: Bonnie Edelman was born in New York City. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Connecticut College on an academic and athletic scholarship. Having been raised in a family of artists and architects, Bonnie was always creating. Whether it was sculpture, painting, jewelry making and interior design, she has always had an intense need to express herself through creativity. Fashion was an all encompassing self expression so it was because of this idea of materializing thoughts, desires and inspirations that she decided to devote her career to the editorial side of the fashion industry. After an internship at Rolling Stone Magazine and then formally starting her career as the assistant to the Fashion Director at Seventeen Magazine, Bonnie moved through the ranks at Glamour Magazine and MTV. She then settled into the position of Travel Editor at Sports Illustrated, where she navigated the world producing exotic and inspiring photo shoots for the magazine’s annual Swimsuit Issue. It was during this time spent in The Islands of the Maldives, Ecuador, Venezuela and Kenya, to mention a few, while working closely with photographers like Sante D’Orazio, Russell James...
