Jim Rabby

American

Jim Rabby is a native of Houston, Texas. He had polio as a child, and while he was in Shrine Hospital, he was given art supplies after expressing his interest in art. He has been painting since the 1960s. He lived in Santa Fe in the mid-1980s, where he worked as an artist. Rabby is known for his loose Impressionist style, which is similar to that of known artists such as Vincent van Gogh and Claude Monet. Rabby uses oils and applies them to a handmade canvas with a palette knife, which creates an interesting layered and textured piece.
