Maria Kipp Table Lamps Pair
By Maria Kipp
Located in Fulton, CA
Spectacular pair of Maria Kipp table lamps with original bases. Shade colors complement and fit the bases beautifully. When lit a light blue glow appears within the color palette. At first look bases appear to be murano glass, but in fact are cast and painted solid plaster mounted to a gold painted wood base. Original three-way sockets work as intended. Base only measures 23 inches tall, 7.5 inch diameter. Shade only measure 20 inches tall, 15.25 inch diameter. MARIA KIPP: Maria Kipp was an accomplished textile engineer and designer who led her own successful company, Maria Kipp, Inc., in Los Angeles from 1926 through the 1977. Her hand-woven textile designs — used for draperies, upholstery and lampshades — were specified by some of the most famous modernist designers. Now that I’ve discovered vintage Maria Kipp textiles and lampshades, I understand why. They are Exquisite. Just exquisite. SOURCE: Retro...

Maria Kipp (1900–1988) was a textile designer and engineer active in the United States from the 1920s till her death. Modernist architects such as Rudolph Schindler and Richard Neutra sought out her designs for their interiors. Neutra used Kipp's designs in his own home, as did other prominent Southern California architects such as Welton Becket, who commissioned her to create interiors for the Bullock's chain of department stores, and Paul Revere Williams, who partnered with her to create interiors for celebrity homes and the Beverly Hills Polo Lounge...
