Internationally recognized for her mastery of colonial era ceramic techniques her pieces reinvent ceramic history to create 21st century social political and environmental narratives. CREAMWARE SKULL 2012 V&A Residency as World Class Maker H 7” Press molded and slipcast creamware with metallic oxide agate and indigenous London clay. Description This skull incorporates Erickson’s experimental archeology in recreating an 18th century English agate teapot featured in Ceramics in America 2003 . The mirror and reverse image of the iconic V&A logo incorporates experimental formulations of metallic oxide clays she developed to create the specific agate palette, pattern and technique that is the subject of one of the three films Erickson produced while V&A artist in residence in the category of World Class Maker in 2012.
