Daria Kotlyarova
To my darling for memory - a horse on a turquoise blue background

2018

About the Item

This painting is made on the wooden block showing a horse that symbolizing the memory that can go to anyone with deep thoughts and love. It can be placed either on wall or any other place including shelf. In the modern world, the artist is a peculiar explorer of the time that he lives In. The “main character” of this world is a man whose gaze is turned inward. This view projects its existential reality, where the figurative language of painting is a method of transmitting abstract images of the experiences of the main characters and the time in which they exist on an equal footing with the viewer. Pictures of Daria Kotlyarova have no plot, at first glance, they have no action, but there is a moment. The moment before the second “before” ... and the viewer stops and freezes in tension, this is almost a psychological “cinema reception” that refers us to David Hockney’s paintings. The search for personal identification and artistic language can be seen in the hidden quotations of conceptual realism, symbolism and decorative principles of pop art. Daria Kotlyarova's works are in the collections of the Museum of Russian Art TMORA (USA, Minneapolis), the Kaluga State Art Museum, and in private collections in Russia, Italy, the USA, France, Serbia, and Croatia. Kotlyarova is a participant in exhibitions of young artists in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Central House of Artists, the Museum of Revolution, the 1st Moscow International Biennale of Young Art, the Moscow International Art Salon, the Want Art Gallery (New York, USA) and others. In March 2018 in London, her work was presented at the Gracious Heart charity auction at Christie's office.
