Debbie Miller
"Treat Yourself" Small still life painting, cupcake, white frosting, red cherry

2019

About the Item

"Treat Yourself" Oil on Panel, 6 x 6 inches. Painting of Chocolate Cupcake with White Frosting and Red Cherry on Top on a Pale Blue and White Background. Framed in Silver ( 11 x 11 Inches Framed Size). There are 7 additional cupcake paintings available from this series which work well as a grouping. Beautifully painted in a luscious style reminiscent of Wayne Thiebaud's much more costly works, this series of individual or multiple cupcakes has both a Pop Art and traditional sensibility. At one point Miller set herself the fanciful goal of painting a cupcake a day and these charming paintings are as sophisticated, inventive, and accomplished as works of much higher value. They stand completely on their own or perfectly complement each when installed as a series. Some are on painted on canvas which require no framing, others are on panels which are sold framed in silver. Sale price includes frame cost where appropriate. Debbie (Gonville) Miller received her BFA in Illustration from Rhode Island School of Design in 1988. A Native Rhode Islander, she grew up in a home that encouraged creativity and being outside in nature as much as possible. Her evolution into an artist was inevitable. Since graduating from RISD, she has worked as a freelance artist, decorative painter, teacher and master artist at an international folk art company. In 2006 she made the transition back to her first love, oil painting, bringing to her art strong composition and a colorful illustrative style. Miller has had numerous exhibitions throughout New England and her paintings are in many collections in the United States, Canada, England, Germany and Norway.

  • Rocks Glasses
    By Inkyeong Baek
    Located in New York, NY
Oil painting on canvas by female Korean artist based in New York. Hyper-realistic, Trompe-l’œil painting that depicts an assortment of glass vessels. The glasses seem to pop off the canvas through optical illusion that renders the image in three-dimensions. Sensational paintings of glass vessels come to life in this dynamic exhibition featuring new works by Korean artist Inkyeong Baek. Demonstrating an uncanny ability to capture her subject-matter, Baek’s enchanting oil paintings glitter with a gemstone-like quality that truly captivates. The material characteristics of glass are fickle, often visually elusive. Yet each work on display beautifully illustrates, in stunning, hyper-realistic detail, an array of objects, from champagne flutes to whisky tumblers. Take the large-scale painting, Rocks...
