Terence McGlade
Turbulence No 2 - large, narrative, corten steel, abstract outdoor sculpture

2021

About the Item

"My work explores the relationship between the tyranny of ageing and urban spaces. With influences as diverse as Brancusi and Buckminister Fuller, new synergies are crafted from simple and complex meanings. I have long been fascinated by the theoretical limits of the human condition. What starts out as triumph soon becomes corroded into a manifesto of power, leaving only a sense of dread and the possibility of a new synthesis. As temporal forms become frozen through boundaries, the viewer is left with a hymn to limits of our future."- Terrence McGlade This monumental outdoor sculpture is created out of corten steel. The iconic curls capture the essence of the earth as it rolls through the countryside.
