Davit Nava Art
Mexican, b. 1987
Davit Nava advocates a circular view of life and respect for nature which is central to many Indigenous cultures, as opposed to Western society’s linear perception of life on the planet, in the sense that the perception of time is linear; there is a beginning and an end and that life itself is viewed in a polarized manner, for example; right-wrong, good-bad, light-darkness etc.
His work focuses on showing the beauty of nature by creating sustainable art that seeks to raise public awareness on environmental issues. By creating lifelike forms with reused and recycled material, Nava seeks to spark the interest for nature by pointing at and highlighting its beauty and at the same time transmitting the beliefs that are essential to himself as a human being.
Nava uses material and processes with low or no impact at all on the environment; post-natural-disaster wood, post-use paper and carton, used textiles and clothing, garbage as for example scrap wire and plastic bags, air hardening clay and glass beads.

Long-Term Agate
By Paige Smith (A Common Name)
Located in Philadelphia, PA
Resin cast geodes and cracked slate in a wooden frame by Paige Smith. This piece measures 18in x 18in, with a depth of 1-5/8in.
Paige Smith AKA A Common Name, is a multi-disciplinary artist and designer who lives and works in Los Angeles, CA. Smith is most notable for creating “Urban Geode,” a street art series of sculptures that resemble geodes, made entirely of paper and resin casts.
Always interested in geology, Smith started to notice the nooks and crannies in the sides of buildings, walls, and abandoned phone booths within her community of the Historical Arts District (in Los Angeles). Seeing this as an opportunity to create, Smith took street-art to a whole new level.
Since beginning the project, she has created large-scale installations for well-known brands such as The Standard, Hollywood; The Viper Room...
