The emerald-cut sapphire is all angles, more octagonal than rectangular, making a bold statement on the finger at 13.4 x 10.66 x 5.82 mm and weighing 7.8 carats. The stunning natural corundum blue sapphire is accompanied by report no. 1088352 dated 15 November 2017 from the America Gemological Laboratories (AGL), stating that it is of Burmese (Myanmar) origin with no indication of thermal treatment. The geometric style of this ring is jazzy and optical with minimal metal, allowing the dazzling effects of all three gemstones to take center stage. The center stone is set in warm 18K yellow gold, flanked on either side by triangle-shaped diamonds, sometimes called trillion cuts, set in platinum with protective and sleek custom-shaped corner prongs and weighing an estimated 3.00 carats total. During the 1920s, many unusual diamond cuts were developed to suit the new geometric designs, including trapeze or trapezoid, half-moon, and triangle cuts.
