About the Item
A contemporary cast bronze sculpture depicting Diana, goddess of the hunt, moon and animals in verde bronze patina. This piece is available in different patinas – bronze, antique verde, Italian verde. Also known as Artemis in Greek mythology, Diana is the twin sister of Apollo, the god of music and the sun. Famous for her preference of dwelling on high mountains and for being the protector of animals, she is traditionally represented holding her bow, symbolizing the hunt. This sculpture, created with the traditional technique of the lost-wax (à la cire perdue) that allows a great precision in the details, presents a modern depiction of a classical subject. Her slender naked body is delicately wrapped in a thin cloth. She is lifting her left arm holding her bow towards the sky, having just shot her arrow. The nice movement and tension of her body is perfectly accented by the positioning of her feet, as she is standing on her toes. The dimensions are only for Diana, one of the photos shows a pedestal that is not included but available for purchase. With its graceful silhouette and lovely verde bronze patina, this sculpture of a Roman goddess will be a lovely focal point whether placed inside a home or outside, in a garden.
