Rare Italian Font in Red Marble, 17th Century



Font "Acquasantiera"in red marble Era end 1600 2 pieces Hexagonal tub diameter 60 cm Total height 100 cm. Integrates, unique restorations, on the base of the column and in a corner of the tub Historical news: For the marble of the Arzo quarries and in particular the Macchiavecchia we have news from the 2nd half of the 1300s. It has been widely used in the Baroque and 18th century churches, decorated and embellished with altars, baptized sources mali, Acquasantiere and others, with examples in the Abbey of Einsiedeln, in the Church of Fraumunster in Zurich, in the Cathedral of Como and in the Duomo from Milan.
