Native American Thlinget Basket

About the Item

Native American Thlinglet basket Hand written description reads: Spruce root basket Made by Mrs. Archie White Thlinget, Ko Ax Day Ooh. She died when she was about 97. Year of death is fall of 1962. This basket was made when she was much younger, when she had better vision. It's about 43 or more years old. It was used for picking berries. Note is dated October 1963. Making this piece about 97 years old.
