Truda Carter Poole Pottery Blue Rooster Pattern Hand Painted Bowl

About the Item

A good large and well painted poole pottery bowl decorated with the Blue Rooster pattern by Truda Carter and dating from the 1960’s. The bowl stands raised on a narrow round foot with a slightly recessed base. The wide flat edged bowl is bolding hand painted with blur painted roosters perched amidst flowering shrubs and is repeated around the body in a continuous scene and set between simple green and purple lines against a white ground. The inner bowl has a pale rouge glazed finish and the bowl has printed and painted marks to the base. In good condition.

    A rare and stunning French majolica twin handled pottery bowl applied with birds by renowned maker Sarreguemines and dating from the latter 19th century. The rounded bowl stands raised on four half ball shaped feet with a basket weave styled design.
