Anton Puchegger Polar Bear Statue with Clock. A stunning early 20th Century large ceramic statue with 3 polar bears and a clock and lights inside. Made and Designed in 1905 by Anton Puchegger, who lived from 1878-1917. He was an Austrian Animal Sculptor in the passage from Art Nouveau to the Expressionism. Most of his time he worked in Berlin, where he got his inspiration in the Zoo - Zoologischer Garten. He was a multilateral Sculptor and worked with many different Materials. This large polar bear statue is Signed, has a Stamp of the Porcelain Company and is numbered. The clock is made of Copper and signed Flinois Trouille, Amiens, France. Inside you have the original wiring that still works. 2 of the probably 4 lights are still working. If we had to replace the broken lights we had to obtain the wiring from the statue as it is to narrow to go in with your hands; so we've chosen to leave it as it is. This large Animal Statue - Animal Art - Polar Bear Art Piece is in good used condition. It could have a few small repairs, but not so clear due colors difference of age and use.
