Pino Signoretto, Livio de Marchi Design Pauly, Boot in Chalcedony Opaline Murano

About the Item

Directly from the Pauly's art vignette in San Marco square. Pauly exhibit of Signoretto translation of De Marchi was in Saint Mark’s square in Venice, April 2000. While photographing and posting this listing I paid more attention to the details and the ability of Pino Signoretto to make such an incredible piece. He is the giant of glassmaking. No one in the past or in the future will ever be able to get even close to his virtuosims. In this scultpure he uses on of his preferite glass color, it's called chalcedony opaline, to distinguish it from the chalcedony developed by Loredano and Dino Rosin. The ivory color comes from a heavy inclusion of silver in the melted glass. Which gives a transparency effect when thin and hot worked, and ivory with veins when massiccio solid. Here Pino have coated the thin wall parts with gold leaf. An unbelievable collaboration among artist of different media, made for Pauly. Pauly had a shop in San Marco square, every time I was in Venice I visited his shop. It was divided in two parts, a Classic ones with pieces of the Murano tradition, the artistic part instead had every time exciting proposals. I have seen this sculpture there and admired it so much. No signature. Showing LDV (Livio De Marchi) labe on the shop label. I tried to catch the details. It's a masterpiece. A collector's piece, either of De Marchi or Pino Signoretto.
