About the Item
The ribbons of cascading hair made out of brass add dimension to the hand hammered Alpaca silver faceless form executed by the Austrian sculptor; Karl Schmidt. He worked for Hagenhauer until 1987 and then did his own designs. This is from 1989. It is a unique piece and there are no other variations of this. This is a great table top signed sculpture that has monumental height and presence. It is all hand wrought. The back of this sculpture is open as exemplified in the images and is signed there. Please note: it is no longer in perfect condition and has some small welding imperfections. Please note: it is not kept on premise.

- Condition:Wear consistent with age and use. Minor structural damages. There are a few minor dings on it and some bent metal. There are a few welding imperfections. it is not in perfect condition. Sold as is now. Otherwise presents well.

Karl F. Schmidt
Karl F. Schmidt born 1948 in Vienna, since 1968 metal designer and master belt maker. He did his basic training in Professor Franz Hagenauer's master workshop, where he later worked as workshop manager. In 1987 he opened a studio in Vienna under his own name based on his own designs. His main works are sculptures, hammered out of sheet metal, as well as sculptures out of wood, oil paintings and design work in the furnishing sector. He ran the studio until 2008, then a private studio in Neudorf, Burgenland.
