Pair 19th Century French Faience Barbotine Jardinieres, Cachet Pots

About the Item

Pair 19th century French Faience barbotine jardinieres ~ Cachet pots not only retain their vivid jewel tone coloration, each has been remarkably well preserved with delicate rose blossom petals being so realistically rendered one is tempted to smell the flowers! The turquoise blue background merges into the rich olive green base, with just a touch of figure to the design topped with a fluted and scalloped ridge. The flowers spring forth dramatically and wrap around half of the circumference, with the entire work hand-painted to perfection prior to firing in the kiln. Perfect for displaying fresh flowers or as decorative accents all on their own! Circa 1880s Each measures 8 height x 8.5 in diameter.
