Plate Centerpiece Bowl Tray Decorated Ornament Majolica Blue White Deruta Italy

About the Item

This splendid ceramic plate is handmade and hand-painted in Italy following the original Renaissance painting technique, unchanged over time, which we observe to the letter: it is decorated in majolica painted in duotone on a white background, along with a rhomboidal central motif with blue and yellow gold racemes. Nevertheless, the specific detail which enhances the craftsmanship and originality of the artifact, is the profiled and ornate edge which, in addition to incorporating decorative details of the central theme, is characterized by a raised and curved line forming a wave. A snake-shaped loop is grafted onto the latter, enveloping itself in a spiral. The accuracy of the details adds a further qualitative element to the plate: in particular, it is made unique by the presence of hand-painted decorations also on the back of the product, together with the certification mark, bringing back the ancient and almost lost splendor of crafted and precious objects belonging to Italian noble families. Colors: deruta blue, golden yellow, cerium oxide. Visit our storefront to discover the whole deBlona collection. The beauty of a deBlona majolica is determined by the ancient process, unchanged over time and handmade, which we observe to the letter in the creation of our artworks: painting ceramics is a very complex, fascinating and insidious art, but it is precisely the human and imperfect sign that makes every piece so characteristic and totally unique. deBlona's essence is represented by the interpretation of the color and by an unrepeatable taste, with which we want to give new chromatic emotions. Majolica accompanies the history of mankind, telling its existence for centuries: here, in our Atelier, we want to keep on narrating our time.
