Intaglio cut glass centre bowl with sterling silver pedestal base signed by Hawkes.
Thomas Gibbons Hawkes founded what was probably this country’s most successful factory devoted exclusively to the cutting of glass. It certainly had the longest period of operation of any cutting shop 82 years. Only fully-featured glassworks ones that included blank-making as well as glass-cutting.
