This is a James Dixon & Son Sheffield Silver wide basket. The basket is shaped as a large open flower whose petals border forms ruffles. Inside, it is adorned with etched scrolls of acanthus leaves, flowers and kind of crowns. The border and basket handle are decorated with a chain of repousse beads. The basket is attached to a round pedestal. Below it, it is found the James Dixon & Son Sheffield hallmark.
