19th Century Sterling Silver Communion Beaker and Wafer Tazza

About the Item

A fine antique William IV sterling silver communion beaker and wafer tazza; an addition to our religious silverware collection. This fine antique William IV English sterling silver communion set consists of a beaker and tazza. The antique beaker has a plain bell shaped flared form onto a spreading circular foot. The wafer tazza has a circular form with a plain circular foot. The surface of the tazza, upper rim of the beaker and foot are ornamented with a band of tooled decoration. This antique beaker retains the original gilt interior. Dimensions Height of beaker 7.7 cm/3" Diameter of top 6 cm/2.3" Diameter of base 4 cm/1.5" Diameter of tazza 6.2 cm/2.5" Weight 6 troy ounces/186g Condition Each piece of this antique communion set are a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent condition. Full hallmarks to the surface of the beaker and underside of the tazza are all very clear; the maker's mark to each is partially rubbed.     An exceptional, fine and impressive Russian silver gilt and niello enamel beaker, an addition to our Russian silverware collection. This exceptional antique Russian silver gilt beaker has a cylindrical, tapering form. The surface of this antique beaker is embellished with a fine niello enamel scene depicting a structural rooftop skyline behind a towered brick wall, incorporating cloud designs on the matte textured upper portion. The ornamentation to the beaker is flanked with two opposing chevron style borders. The upper rim of the beaker is encircled with an applied moulded border.
