Antique Victorian 1879 Sterling Silver Galleried Drinks Tray

An exceptional, fine and impressive, antique Victorian English sterling silver galleried drinks tray, an addition to our Victorian teaware collection This exceptional antique sterling silver drinks tray has a plain oval form. The surface of this Victorian silver tray is plain and unembellished. The deep galleried border of this tray is embellished with an impressive pierced and applied laurel or bay leaf decoration, incorporating two shaped oval inset handles. Each hand piece is encompassed with a branch decorated border, ornamented with details replicating the wood's naturalistic texture. This sterling silver tray is further embellished with an applied bead decorated border to the rim. Condition This antique silver tray is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The pierced and applied decoration is very sharp. Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the tray are all very clear.     A fine and impressive, unusual antique Victorian English sterling silver novelty pepper shaker; an addition to our diverse silverware collection. This fine antique Victorian sterling silver novelty pepper has a plain ovoid shaped form. The body of the pepper is embellished with impressive chased decoration depicting a cracked egg shell with a boy’s face and hands to the anterior surface and his feet and buttocks to the reverse. The body has pierced 'pepper' holes in a hexagram formation to the upper portion. This pepper retains the original fully hallmarked screw fit weighted base; which when unscrewed provides access to permit the pot to be filled. This novelty pepper is a fine example of its type.
