About the Item
A beautiful and most charming French 19th century Louis XVI st. ormolu, Meissen porcelain, crystal and rock crystal chandelier. The chandelier is centered by an elegant cut crystal ball pendant below lovely rosettes and a finely detailed bottom acorn finial. Each of the four arms display gracefully scrolled fluted designs adorned with beautiful teardrop shaped rock crystal pendants and fine prism shaped cut crystal pendants leading to floral bobeches and fluted candle cups. Four scrolled supports in a lyre shape lead up the cage and are adorned with richly chased wheat sprigs and fine acanthus leaves. At the center is a magnificent and intricately detailed Meissen porcelain figurine of a young boy dressed in period attire with a charming hat while holding flowers in his hands with his loyal dog by his side. Beautiful and exceptionally detailed painted Meissen porcelain flowers with exceptionally vivid colors lead upwards amidst tole leaves. The superb top crown displays additional scrolled elements with finely detailed wheat sprigs and kite shaped cut rock crystal pendants with a central inverted acorn finial. All original gilt throughout.
