French Belle Époque Gilt-Bronze & Molded Glass 16 Light Plafonnier Chandelier
About the Item
A large and impressive French Belle Époque gilt-bronze and molded glass sixteen-light plafonnier chandelier. The large ovoid pierced gilt-bronze frame surmounted with eight pairs of floral scrolled light-branches, each fitted with a frosted molded glass shade with iced-stalagmite edges in the manner of Lalique. The lower floral decorated gilt-bronze body surmounted with eight-ovoid molded glass panels etched with a sunburst design and eight curved rectangular molded glass panels also etched with a sunburst design below, all ending with a domed cut-molded glass shade ending with a gilt-bronze acorn finial. The sunburst gilt bronze top canopy with four emanating scrolled arms supporting the body of the chandelier. Circa: Paris, 1900's.
