About the Item
A high-end Mid-Century Modern vintage brass and crystal glass chandelier or flush mount with 14 arms which was designed and executed by the popular firm J. & L. Lobmeyr in the heart of Europe, in Austria.
The vintage flushmount or chandelier was made out of brass tubes and cut crystal glasses and glass flowers elements. These sparkling cut crystal glass elements give its elegant and amazing appearance.
J. & L. Lobmeyr was founded in 1823 and is a famed Viennese glassware house.
Lobmeyr designed among other things lightings for the Vienna Imperial Palace and Schloß Schönbrunn after became purveyor to the court.
J. & L. Lobmeyr worked out many famous glass designs for the Wiener Werkstätte.
After the second world war J. & L. Lobmeyr designed the famous chandeliers for the Viennese State Opera.
All 14 arms features E 27 sockets.
The original condition is very good and the brass is beautiful with patina which shows some wear and signs of age and use.
