About the Item
Made of painted metal, the convex mini pendant was designed by Jens Fager for Zero Lighting. Dropping its cone-shaped shade from a simple cord, the convex is modern architecture’s answer to make it clean but make it interesting. We offer the convex in black, white or galvanized finishes, and as a circle pendant in two sizes.
A recent graduate from University College of Arts, Crafts and Design (Konstfack) in Stockholm, Jens Fager has exploded upon the international design scene, creating buzz in London, Milan and Stockholm during the respective design weeks going on in these important trendsetting cites. About his designs, he maintains his aim is to treat every product he sets out to design in an honest way and to find the main function within each of them. Infusing them with a sense of humor, poetry or surrealism is also on the designer’s mind as he endeavors to create natural products. Being “a product” of Nordic Design himself, he believes the biggest strengths for natives of the region are an understanding of everyday needs and an intimacy with nature. But, he quickly points out, aesthetics are never sacrificed to these attributes—a fact that brings beauty to Nordic products. His portfolio includes everything from small architectural projects, and interiors for restaurants, stores and offices to an array of products. “Everything is about everyday life and our essential needs for daily experiences,” the designer declares. Global Lighting distributes Jens Fager’s Lens pendant, produced by Swedish manufacturer Zero Interior Lighting, in North America. It is included in our ECCO Collection, curated with architects in mind.
