About the Item

"Molla" floor lamp by the designers Cesare Leonardo and Francesca Stagi for Lumenform, Italy 1971. Flexible rod in chromed steel finished at each end with a rubber sphere. The chrome projector moves along the rod thanks to two rubber wheels. The tension between the floor and the ceiling is sufficient to support this minimalist floor lamp. Very good condition. Cesare Leonardi (Modena, 1935-2021) si laurea alla Facoltà di Architettura di Firenze nel 1970. Franca Stagi (1937-2008) si laurea al Politecnico di Milano nel 1962. Insieme conducono uno studio professionale a Modena dal 1963 al 1983, che si afferma nella realizzazione di oggetti di design in vetroresina come le poltrone Nastro e Dondolo, pubblicati su riviste e libri di design e parte delle collezioni permanenti dei più importanti musei del mondo: MoMA di New York, Victoria and Albert Museum di Londra, Vitra Design Museum di Weil am Rhein. Tra il 1970 e il 1980 lo studio si occupa di architettura, parchi e strutture collettive (scuole, centri sportivi, cimiteri) pensate in stretto rapporto con gli alberi e il verde. Franca Stagi (Modena, 26 August 1937 - Modena, 11 December 2008) was an Italian architect. In 1962 she graduated in architecture at the Milan Polytechnic and obtained her professional qualification the same year; in 1963 she enrolled in the order of architects of Bologna and she opened an architecture studio in Modena together with the architect Cesare Leonardi, with whom she collaborated until 1984. Her professional production can be divided into two phases: the first is that of the projects carried out in collaboration with the architect Leonardi, in the second phase of her career Stagi favors the restoration and recovery of the historic architectural heritage of urban centres. After her death, in 2009 the family donated Franca Stagi's professional archive to the Municipality of Modena, kept in the Luigi Poletti library.[3].
