About the Item
Introducing the Piatto wall lamp--a wildly sculptural light that adds instant drama wherever it goes. Fabricated of spun mesh and solid brass and rooted in French Modernism; Blueprint Lighting's reverent nod to the legacy of Mathieu Mategot. Shown here in our Matte Black enamel mesh and our hand-finished Oil-Rubbed Bronze hardware, but available in 36 colors and 6 metal finishes. What will you create?
Our sconces and wall lights are hardwired by default, but may be wired with a cord and plug by request.
About the collection:
Blueprint lighting's Chief Luminary, Kelly Aaron, opened her first Mid-Century Modern design store, Orbit, in 1999 in the progressive little hamlet of Asheville, NC. She became a respected young voice in mid-century design, Studio Pottery and modern Craft; guest-curating museum exhibitions, contributing to arts texts and giving gallery talks. Around this time, her fascination with Hungarian-born Francophile Mathieu Mategot, who was then a relatively under-sung midcentury designer, took root. Kelly long toyed with the idea of paying homage to Mategot's innovative "Rigitulle" material, bringing his ideas and aesthetic into the 21st century and breathing new life into his signature medium.
Dimensions: 23" D x 25" H x 12" W. Mesh shade is 12" diameter and 2" deep.
Specs: Uses three (3) bulbs and may use any E12 base (candelabra) bulb up to 60 watts (or use LED). G25 globe-shaped bulbs as shown are recommended for this design. Bulbs are not included. All Blueprint products are UL listed.
