19th Century French Framed Miniature Portrait, Buxom Woman in Blue Bonnet
About the Item
An early 19th century French hand-painted miniature portrait framed under glass, portraying an older woman wearing a bonnet tied with a blue ribbon, her ample bosom showing in a blue dress with a sheer, ruffled high neckline, reflecting the period. She wears a gold hoop earring.
The black wood frame shows an oval gold painted bezel around the portrait with a leaf form hanging ring attached to the front. The verso shows metal points holding the portrait in place and an old paper backing.
Frame dimensions: 4.0 W x 5.0 in. L x .25 in. H
Both the painting and the frame are in the expected antique condition with signs of age and wear. A small amount of space shows between the painting and the frame.
