Vintage Chinese Pao-Tao Rug
About the Item
A lovely vintage Pao-Tao rug, handwoven near Beijing in China circa 1940. The design features a girl carrying a basket of flowers beneath a tree on a deep indigo field.
Size: 1.30m x 0.69m (4ft 3in x 2ft 3in).
This rug is in good condition with light age related wear. The fringes and selvedges are original and secure and it has been professionally cleaned. Small repair to field along with another small repair to the girl’s head (see photos). Very slight colour run to red.
