19th C. Agra Rug with Maharaja and Hunting Scene Tigers, Elephants Symbolism

About the Item

Conversation piece with elaborate hunting forest sequence including a depiction of Indian Royals, dancers, birds and a mysterious creature attacking elephants, cattle and a Royal deer being brought to the Palace, early 20th century. The border contains further symbolism. Good overall condition with hard to describe aged intact hues. One or two low pile areas as shown in photos. Rare, circa 1910-1920.
