e15 Karnak Chair with European Oak Base by Ferdinand Kramer

About the Item

Designed in 1925, the elegant and archetypal chair Karnak features Ferdinand Kramer's masterful grip on simplicity. Available in waxed solid European oak or walnut, the linear profile of Karnak is boldly reduced to the essentials, featuring a gently curved backrest and handwoven seat, providing considerable comfort. The woven seat is finished in a textile band or vegetable tanned leather, which is luxuriously soft and will patinate with exposure to direct light. With its spare and refined aesthetic the chair Karnak is a signature piece suitable for diverse environments. Its frame is fitted with a steel profile for additional stability. Karnak perfectly complements all tables in the e15 collection and is delivered as one piece. Dimensions: W 49 cm, D 52.5 cm, H 80 cm, SH 47 cm.

  • Hand-Carved Sculptural White Oak Dining Chair W/ Plant-Based Finish
    By Nathaniel Wojtalik, Cultivation Objects
    Located in Brooklyn, NY
Piece and Quiet by Nathaniel Wojtalik is a series that draws upon the literary, musical, and cinematic idea of découpé, or cut-up. The technique of découpé stems from the notion that a text, musical score, or image could be cut up and rearranged to create a new body. Off-cuts and partially completed prototypes float around Wojtalik's studio; some more machined and worked than others, many just raw materials laying in their natural form. Wojtalik practices design by intuition: limited, but simultaneously expanded within the constraints of what is salvaged. Each piece is unique and hand made in the Brooklyn studio, so no two will look exactly alike, but all will look close to as pictured. All materials are locally sourced and finishes are derived from non-toxic plant based...
