Aino Aalto, Very Rare Pine Cabinet for Artek, 1940s'

About the Item

Architect Aino Aalto( 1894-1949) was the great unknown factor behind her internationally renowned husband Alvar Aalto. As a designer, Aino was primarily known for her work in glass. However, her work ranged from architecture to photography and various areas of applied art and design. This cabinet is extremely rare and is most definitely sought after by Aalto collectors. With the original stamp, Aalto Design, Artek, this piece is from the 1940s. Although the Aalto´s used mainly birch in their furnitures, this cabinet is made from pine. It has 6 spacy drawers and two shelves on the other side. The large knobs of the cabinet add character to the item. Signs of normal wear and use. We recommend using 1stdibs shipping on this item for they have reasonable rates with their couriers.
