Japanese Tansu Storage Cabinet with Sliding Doors, Meiji Periode

About the Item

A Japanese Meiji period two-section tansu cabinet (also known as Mizuya Dansu) crafted in pine and elm burl. The top section consist of sliding doors and drawers in elm wood. Lower section with pair of sliding doors. Within the sliding doors are shelves. Original wrought iron fittings. A clear lacquer finish highlights the elm burl beautifully. Japan, Meiji period, 1852-1912. (Item is in two parts).
