19th Century Louis XV Style Bonnetiére or Display Cabinet
About the Item
A 19th century French Louis XV style bonnetière, or display cabinet, from Normandy made of solid oak. Beautiful hand-carved decoration with a pair of lovebirds beneath the crown, ribbons flower garlands at the top and music instruments on the apron. In two parts, a glass paned vitrine rests on a small cabinet and must be fastened at the back. The vitrine has the original glass pane and opens to a painted interior with three shelves. The cabinet has a dovetailed drawer above a cabinet door that was converted from two drawers. Decorative iron latches and ring pulls. Large chapeau de gendarme crown. Fine craftsmanship using pegged construction. Please refer to photos for more details. Please visit our showroom in Winter Park, Florida.
