Italian Mid-Century Modern coffee table attributed to Piero Fornasetti. The table suspended on 4 angled black metal legs with a dynamic screen printed and lacquered top featuring the landmarks of New York City, circa 1950. Thus, in addition to its functional use, its bold architectural form and aesthetic presence it serves as a time piece of New York during the early 50's. The landmarks include the Empire State Building, United Nations, Statue of Liberty, Times Square, Chinatown, the George Washington Bridge and Grants Tomb. Related designers: Gio Ponti and Piero Fornasetti frequently collaborated on projects. Surrealism.
