About the Item
Fabulous MCM (a.k.a. Mid-Century Modern) to Modern black powder coated metal smoked glass square expanding table attributed to DIA (a.k.a. Design Institute of America.) Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. The original brass plating has been removed and the metal powder coated a gorgeous matte slightly textured black. It retains its original smoked glass which does have some scratches from age and use. Please see photos and zoom in for details. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, 1970’s.
Imagine this…you just get home from work and your hubby calls and tells you that he’s bringing a few guests home with him for dinner, and they’ll be there in a few minutes!! Well of course you’re going to have to order take-out BUT where is everyone going to sit??? NO PROBLEM!!!! Check out this convenient and oh-so-stylish expandable dining table! With a simple pull out to the left of the square smoky glass upper top and another pull out to the right of the lower top, BOOM! you have doubled your dining space!! It’s like having two dining tables in one! Don’t you just love having choices?? It was originally wearing a brass plated finish and normally we leave the aged patina alone, but this one was just beyond repair, and we LOVE this table and its style and functionality so much that we decided to give it a fresh black powder coating! It is amazing!! It is attributed to similar designs by DIA and it’s right there between being mid-century modern to modern in style and it will pair nicely with dining chairs of either of those styles. This is a FABULOUS expanding dining table with gorgeous smoked glass! We love it, and surely you must too? You need to make it yours!
