1960s French Retro Rose Shape Articulated Diamond Yellow Gold Brooch

About the Item

Brooch in 18 karats yellow gold, mercury head hallmark and platinum, young girl's head hallmark. Representing a rose, this vintage brooch is articulated and can thus present the flower open or closed in bud. The pistils are formed of movable golden rods each set at their ends with a brilliant- cut diamond. The petals are made of woven gold thread and the edge of the petal set with a line of diamonds. The stem is set with leaves and a diamond. These are the latter that activate the mechanism of opening and closing the flower by a movement from bottom to top and vice versa. The pin has a safety pump and 2 gold rods are at the back of the flower to keep it in place once attached to the garment. Total weight of diamonds: approximately 1.60 carats. Height: 5 cm, width of the closed rose: 2 cm and open: 4.2 cm. Total weight of the jewel: 22.4 g approximately. Authentic antique brooch - French work of the 1960s by Jean Ferrière, Paris.
