Featuring a large orange, rough cut Fanta Orange Spessartite Garnet center stone and surrounded by diamonds, this ring was inspired by the reflections of the sun on ocean waves. Featuring a 9.96 carat bright orange rough Spessartite Garnet surrounded in diamonds with a diamond band (.46 carats).
The rough stone has been softly polished to a shine and catches light in unexpected ways.
Spessartine, previously called spessartite, is one of the most rare forms of garnet. The name spessartine comes from the Spessart district of Bavaria. Ico & the Bird Fine Jewelry
Ico & the Bird Fine Jewelry was founded by designer Juliana Domenico (’Ico’) Carr and inspired by her world travels, searching for the most beautiful and unique gemstones to incorporate into her designs. Gemstones have always been a passion for the designer. She spent the first five years of her life in Brazil, a country known for some of the worlds’ most striking and rare stones, and her earliest memories were of playing with giant, loose aquamarines in her mother’s jewelry box and arranging them into designs. Working primarily in 22k matte gold and hand-picked gemstones, Juliana works with master craftsmen from around the world employing ancient gold smithing techniques in the creation of singular pieces that will be treasured for generations. Juliana holds an undergraduate degree in Fine Arts from The George Washington University. She also holds a Graduate Gemology (GG) degree from The Gemological Institute of America and Graduate Fine Arts from UCLA.
