Maison Vernon

Family Home by Lucinda Loya Interiors in Boston, MA

This 3,300-square-foot flat belongs to the owner of the Boston Celtics, Wyc Grousebeck along with his wife, Emilia Fazzalarri. It is centrally-located in Boston’s Beacon Hill neighborhood. The historic building holds a cherished

architectural past with masterfully restored details.

The first concept presented to the client was the lacquered, cognac stripe on the dining room ceiling. To highlight the Mathieu Lehanneur light fixture/art installation, the bold stripe was painted in the rich color of cognac to not only add warmth for Boston’s colder climate, but also a wow-factor. Pulling from the homeowner’s Italian heritage, an artist was commissioned to back-paint the glass of the dining room table in the eglomise style, with an Italian- influenced motif. The custom dining chairs are split with two shades of gray fabric. When pushed together, the chairs create wide vertical stripes all around, producing an interesting play of color blocking. This striking dining room is seen immediately upon entry, making a daring design statement.

Italian influences were used in subtle ways throughout; with plenty of clean lines, plush fabrics, warm tones, and custom pieces. The homeowners split their time between their New York and Boston residences, thus, a sophisticated and elegant approach was used with luxe fabrics and tailored trimmings in key areas.
