French 1980's Lasso Wide Leather Corset Belt for Neiman Marcus

About the Item

Belts are the perfect accessory to complete a fashionable 'look' and this 1980's corset belt from Lasso of France promises to be the icing on the cake. It is designed with a supple camel color leather that has a hint of olive undertones. It snaps at the front with a unique embossed overlay textured like an alligator skin and visually reminiscent of a turn of the century menswear tab collar. The interior is lined in a fawn color leather and gold foil marked 'Lasso Made in France'. Originally designed for and retailed at Neiman Marcus. The belt is in very good vintage condition with a couple of issues. There is a small nick on the leather at the right front folded back overlay as shown in photograph 9. There are age spots on the interior fawn leather which can be seen in photograph 10. In spite of the interior spots, the leather is in excellent condition and buttery soft to the touch. SIZING & MEASUREMENTS Marked a size 75 which should fit a U.S. size 4. The dress form in the photographs is a size 6 so it might also work for a larger size depending on what is worn underneath. The belt has a slight curvature and measures 29.5" from end to end at the top and 34.25" at the bottom with a 3.5" width at the front and 5" width at the back. When snapped, the belt measures 27" at the relaxed waist x 32" at the hips.

Condition:
Wear consistent with age and use. There is a minor nick to leather at front folded back overlay shown in photograph 9. Though the leather is in excellent supple condition, there are age spots on the lighter leather lined interior which is not visible on the exterior.
