Born in the province of Forlì-Cesena, the son of a shoemaker who made made-to-measure shoes, at age 14 he entered the family store and produced, together with his brother Franco, sandals that in the summer would be sold with a banquet throughout on the riviera, from Riccione to Rimini, and in the boutiques of Bologna. He opened the plant in San Mauro Pascoli in 1951.
