Michele Lamy French Black 'Cadillac Tailfin' Sunglasses, 1980's

About the Item

From the 'High Priestess of Paris' via 1980's Los Angeles, a fabulous pair of black sunglasses by designer, Michele Lamy. These frames boast a unique silhouette with an angular style earning the moniker 'Cadillac Tailfin' sunglasses. They have mirrored lenses which add a touch of space age style to an otherwise retro punk look. Unique and artistic ... just like the designer herself! ABOUT THE DESIGNER Michelle Lamy began her design career in 1980's Los Angeles. She has a unique style that combines streetwear, goth and wearable art. She lends her many talents as both collaborator and muse to her designer husband, Rick Owens. CONDITION The sunglasses are in good vintage condition with signs of wear and use. The lenses are in pretty good shape though there is a tiny nick in the top of the right lens as shown in photograph 12. The arms are slightly bent which is probably due to the small size. MEASUREMENTS From the front, the sunglasses measure 6" from temple to temple. Each arm measures 5" from front to back. Each lens measures 2" wide and tall. The sunglasses have a small fit and measure 5" from temple to temple on the inside of the frame.
