Custom Obi Creme Top With Floral Design, C.1950
About the Item
C.1950 sleeveless creme shell style top custom fabricated from a Japanese obi cloth. The rich creme background is the perfect frame for the vibrant coral red, antique white and green flower design which has a chenille texture all accented by silver and gold metallic threading. The top is simply made with pullover construction and snap in lingerie holders at the interior. Beautiful on its own with everything from skirts to jeans or an unexpected color pop under a suit jacket. No doubt this obi was purchased while traveling and later made into a wearable piece of art. Lovely!
CONDITION
Fair condition with signs of wear and age to the fabric. Please see photographs 9 and 10 for indications of a running flaw in the fabric. It does not effect the wearability as the top is lined providing support to the top layer of fabric. There is a small spot at the front lower left panel as shown in photograph 11. The interior lining has brown age spotting as shown in photographs 12 and 13 which cannot be seen on the exterior. The top had not been professionally cleaned in order to maintain the integrity of the fabric but it has been freshened and makes a good appearance.
SIZING & MEASUREMENTS
No size is marked though the top best fits Medium - Large sizes with attention to the following measurements. It is boxy by design. For visual reference, the mannequin in the photographs is a size 4 and the top was quite roomy.
