About the Item
Since its start in 1961, the house of Yves Saint Laurent has undoubtedly defined countless moments in fashion from his controversial time at Dior to his Le Smoking ensemble in the 70s. With this in mind, creative director Anthony Vaccarello sought to pay homage to the legacy of the house by introducing a reimaged retrospective as the spring 2018 collection. A direct revival of a 1978 cape, this cape is made from a black plissé and is covered in metallic polka dots of red, gold, violet, and teal. With a jewel neckline, the softly falls from the shoulders and cascades from centre front, round the arms, and finishing in a gorgeous flounce at centre back. This cape features several ties allowing it to be styled differently. Offering a modern-mystical look, this update to a vintage YSL design can be seen as look #5 from that season’s runway.
Unlined, the neck of the cape is faced in the same fabric. In new condition, this cape comes with the original tags and boutique receipt.
