An example of this gorgeous garment can be found in the book 'Thea Porter: Bohemian Chic' by Laura McLaws Helms and Venetia Porter on page 60. This is a such a unique and truly iconic piece within her body of work. I adore the vibrant abstract natural yarn pattern work, which was inspired by Iraqi 'Samawa' carpets, as well as the side hemline slits that reveal a luxurious black satin lining. The rabbit fur trim is so incredibly soft and the zip-up front closure makes this piece so wearable. An almost identical coat was even featured in British Vogue's Fall 1970 issue, shot by the famous Barry Lategan. During this period, Thea Porter's clothing attracted many celebrity customers who enjoyed wearing her erotic creations whose secret was to conceal rather than reveal.
