About

Breathtaking early 1950's "Rosita Contreras" Italian couture party dress fashioned in the most amazing patterned chantilly-lace which has also been appliqued onto pleated silk-tulle! It also has a lot of unique design details like a seductive fully-boned sweetheart bodice and a beautiful pleated hemline. This Italian woman ,Rosita Contreras, was one of the ten designers who helped "The birth of Italian fashion" which was traced back to February 12, 1951 when the Marquis Gian Battista Giorgini organized the first Italian Haute Couture fashion show in Florence. On the occasion of the event only ten fashion designers/shops of the time participated, among Rosita Contreras were the Fontana sisters and Emilio Pucci. Rosita's career was short-lived due to her death which makes her creations very hard to find.
