1960s Paul Jonas Floral Dress with Black Stripes

About the Item

A sensational and original 1960s floral polished cotton dress by British boutique designer Paul Jonas. The dress is in remarkable vintage condition and looks to have barely been worn. The print is a playful floral pattern in shades of blue and green on a bright red background. The horizontal black stripes are actually a second woven overlay on superb quality cotton which retains its original lustre. The dress is beautifully fitted at the torso and there is a gentle flair out from the waist with wide box pleating adding definition around the top of the skirt. With robust spaghetti straps, the fabric gently folds around the top of the bust line and the dress fastens at the rear with the original metal zip. A small bow placed at the centre back completes the look. Beautifully constructed inside and out, the dress is fully lined in the finest quality red acetate fabric with a white grosgrain waist shaper. In mint condition and would fit around a UK 10 or US 6. MEASUREMENTS: BUST - 33.13 in. (86 cm) WAIST - 29.2 in. (74 cm) LENGTH - 39.15 in. (101.5 cm)
